Tran Duc Manh

A CS fresher with a passion for building reliable software and understanding systems from the inside out. My interests span test engineering, cybersecurity, and software development.

About Me

I recently graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in Computer Science (Class of 2025).

My core interests lie in backend development, software testing, and security. What draws me to tech isn’t just building things—it’s understanding how and why they work, and what happens when they don’t. From debugging tricky bugs in Docker-based microservices to reverse-engineering security flaws, I’ve always been fascinated by the low-level details that make complex systems tick.

I'm actively looking for roles such as a Test Engineer, Software Engineer, or Security Analyst where I can contribute meaningfully to innovative projects and continuously enhance my professional capabilities. I'm currently based in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Work Experiences

Software Engineer Intern

June 2024 - September 2024

HIDECC, Hanoi, Vietnam

I worked as a Software Engineer Intern at HIDECC during summer 2024 under the guidance of Ho Tung, where I was responsible for developing and maintaining backend services for a microservices-based system.

It was during this time that I learned a lot about scalable systems, microservices, Docker and RabbitMQ message broker.

Quality Assurance Automation Co-op

January 2023 – June 2023

MFS Investment Management, Boston, MA

This was my first full-time experience as well as my first corporate experience ever in the US. I was working under the mentor of David Cronin, a Principal QA Architect and my manager.

My responsibilities were mainly developing and maintaining automated test scripts using Selenium and TestComplete. I was first exposed to Agile methodologies, daily Kanban meetings, and the importance of CI/CD pipelines in software development. Throughout the time in MFS, I had the chance to work and fully automate test suites of MFS's 3 flagship applications on Jenkins.
